In meeting resistance you will build strength.  If you only do what is easy you will always remain weak.  Here is another anology "he who observes the wind and waits for all the conditions to be favorable will not sow."  What this means is, it does not matter what is in front of you because there will always be something in your way, many times physically but mostly mentally.  If you only go outside when the sun is shinning you will be in doors most of the time.  Excuses will always weaken you mentality, you will never feel perfect and rarely in life in any unertaking are things perfect. You will always have obstacles in your way.  What makes you who you are is what you do when you meet those obstacles.

They say there are two ways you can go in life, one is hard and down that road is where prizes greater than one could ever dream.  The other path is easy and the reward is that it is easy.  We play our gameboy when we need to study, we take a break in practice when another go would help test us, we over eat putting off discipline until tomorrow, only postponing the pain, we drill half speed, we let up when we run, we put the weights down before our arms get tired. All of these things may give us relief for a moment but they will not reward us.  The greater reward lies for that who puts forth the exrtra effort.

The Human Will
The human will, is not like an arm or a leg in which one can see or touch, no human will is of much greater proportion than any human body or anything that can be seen with the human eye.  If fact the human will is of such great magnitude that god leaves it for each man to find within himself.  The human will can not be coached against, like someone who shoots a double leg, those are techniques that can be coached against but the human will, which lies in everybody is capable of miracles.  The human will can over come  any obstacle that is ever put in a mans ways from surviving cancer, setting a record in a triathlon, surviving a prision camp for years, or lifting a car off a loved one. You either believe or you don't, it is like a spring that cycles water.  Can the same spring have both fresh water and salt water, No, it is one or the other. So choose one and choose belief.  The human will, the secret weapon.

Have you ever seen how that impossible building was constructed?  One brick after another.  Thousands, but one by one and bags after bags of cement.  Stone upon stone, each of them insignificant compared with the massive whole.  Men working on it, hour after hour and day after day.  That impossible building was constructed little by little and day by day.
What that means to you is that you have spent those hours, those days, months, and years laying down one brick after another.  You have done this with effort, sweat, energy, sacrifice, devotion, discipline, pain, and fatique.  These are the exact ingredients for success.....But now your building is complete, it is time to let the world see your strengths and efforts.  Go and reap the benefits.  To polish up a job will done, you have to believe in yourself, your team, your building.  Your awareness now needs belief, sleep, proper nutrition, and faith in your potential.

An attitude that cannot be defeated
This 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning at eight o'clock, her hair fashionably brushed and make perfectly applied.  Even though she is legally blind, she moved into a nursing home today.  Her husband of seventy years recently passed away, making the move necessary.  After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smile sweetly when told her room was ready.  As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, an employee provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window.  "I love it," she said with enthusiasm of an eight-year old having just been presented with a new puppy.  "Mrs. Jones, you haven't seeen the room....Just wait."  "That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied.  "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.  Whether I like it or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged.... it's how I arrange my mind.  I already decided to love it, she replied."  "I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do."
If you make the decision to work hard then no obstacle can hold you down, because the decision has already been made.  If you don't have the right attitude to start with, it makes it pretty hard to succeed.
